North Lincolnshire Museum visit

a stunning museum in Scunthorpe, full of archaeological treasures.

As part of our conservation of painted Roman wall plaster from the Southwell Roman site, we found a box that had come from Winterton villa in north Lincs. It must have been taken by Norman Davey to his workshop in Avebury in the early 60’s and got mixed up with ours. A group of us took the cleaned plaster up to the museum where Heritage Manager, Rose Nicholson gave us a guided tour.
