Southwell YAC launched on Saturday 11th March with twenty young people attending. The club proved so popular we have had to create a waiting list. The club was set up following the success of a summer school dig run by Southwell Community Archaeology Group (SCAG) and the interest it generated. At the first session we washed and sorted some of the finds found on the dig, which included Roman and Medieval pottery. The members also made a pottery timeline with the finds that have been recovered in Southwell over the last ten years. We have planned a number of activities such as fieldwalking, arts and crafts, photogrammetry and museum visits.
