Lock down – wash up

Finds, from our latest digs, have been sitting in plastic bags in our store for the last 9 weeks. So with a bit of easing to the lockdown we decided it was a good time to get them washed and safely dried. Thanks to 16 volunteers who came today to collect, at a safe physical distance, finds to take home and wash.

It was good to catch up with people for a chat and to know that the archaeology does not have to grind completely to a halt. We will arrange a virtual meeting soon where we can quiz each other about any interesting pieces that have emerged from the mud of our damp spring.

Thanks again to group members,
Stephen.
