YAC – DIGGING FOR SOUTHWELL

A great second summer school completed. Over the two sessions we had 40 young people. Well done to all the young people and team of volunteers for making it a fantastic experience. It was a lot of fun, some good archaeology skills learnt and hard work completed. We started each day with some ‘racoon circle’ games and team problem solving games, dodged some showers and made some clay pots and friendhip bracelets in between the fun archaeology. Finding bones seem to cause the most excitiement, although for me it was the small sherd of late Saxon Lincoln shelly ware pottery that sealed it!
