Unfortunately, at the last minute, Anita could not join us for the scheduled talk on Southwell’s Anglo Saxon burials.  However, Professor Will Bowden stepped up to provide an excellent presentation on how historians and archaeologists have, through the ages, tried  to recreate what life in Roman Britain must have been like.  Will showed us some very impressive virtual reconstructions from his work in Caister, Norfolk, that enables visitors to walk through the forum and market of the later Roman town, experiencing some of the sounds and sights that might have been there.   Will thinks it won’t be long before we can add smells to the virtual tour!
