16th February 2019, members of SCAG were joined by two groups from Nottingham Young Archaeologists Club to go fieldwalking on the Brackenhurst estate. Franchesca, one of the keen eyed YAC members spotted this lovely flint tool.
A sherd of Notingham green glazed medieval pot was found by Thomas. We are going to have to wash the other pieces to see if any other significant finds were recovered. Hiding under the mud might be a piece of Roman pottery.
The weather was lovely, perhaps a bit too bright for spotting small artrefacts, but young people and adults got on really well and a good day was had by all. Our thanks to NTU Brackenhurst for permission to walk their field.
